From April onwards, students can choose one meal costing around CZK 60 every weekday from the Palacký University canteens. On Monday they can have turkey breast on rosemary with rice for CZK 61, on Tuesday vegetable risotto with cheese for CZK 53. The reduced operating costs of the selected "cheap student food" will be compensated by the Accommodation and Dining Services (SKM) from its own funds.
"The reduction of the material and personal costs for one meal from the daily selection was based on intensive discussions with the university management after the last necessary increase in the prices of university meals and in accordance with the resolution of the university's academic senate from February, 15," said Libor Kolář, Head of SKM. The operating costs for selected meals from the daily menu will be lowered from the current CZK 80 to CZK 50.
"The price of meals that students ordered in March for April at the original prices will be automatically recalculated to the new lower prices," Kolář assured.
The cheaper student meal will be found in the fourth position on the cash menu every day.
