Chairs, blankets and bed linen were delivered on Wednesday by representatives of the Accomodation and Dining Services (SKM) of Palacký University personally to Česká Ves, which was hit hard by the September floods. Eighty wooden chairs will be used by the municipality to furnish the cultural centre, the interior of which was completely destroyed by the water.
"The ground-floor hall lost its parquet floor and all its equipment, including chairs. I really like the fact that the locals, in addition to their huge commitment to dealing with the flood damage, organised a sitting with reproduced music in the cultural centre a few days ago, even in difficult conditions, and the missing chairs have been replaced by beer sets," said Josef Suchánek, the director of the SKM.
Miroslav Paszyc, the head of the canteen, brought the chairs with dozens of sheets, bed linen and blankets to Česká Ves, which is over 100 km away from Olomouc. Together with the director they personally handed over the material aid to the mayor Petr Mudra.
