Accommodation and Dining Services welcome you to the new academic year

The Accommodation and Dining Serices of Palacký University warmly welcomes all students at the start of the new academic year. University dormitories and canteens are an important part of the university infrastructure – they not only provide a roof over your head, but also affordable meals and facilities for everyday life. Newly arrived first year students will find their first "home" in Olomouc here, while for older students it is often a place where they already have friends and a routine.

Dining

UP canteens offer students a wide selection of meals, including gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. Every working day, you can choose from several dishes, which can also be ordered in advance (up to a week in advance) via an online system. Students receive meals at a discounted price thanks to a subsidy. Canteens are available at 17. listopadu, Holice, Neředín, the Rector's Office, and the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, among other locations. 

FreshUP bistros also offer some of their own dishes – they are located at the faculties of law, science, education, and arts, as well as at the Holice campus. All bistros accept payment cards and ISIC. You can also purchase FreshUP products at the Neředín Canteen, and starting in October, FreshUP+ (with an expanded selection) will be open at the former Josef Jařab Canteen (at the dormitory of the same name).

Accommodation

The university provides accommodation in 11 dormitory buildings. Facilities include shared kitchens, study rooms, laundry rooms, music rooms, a gym, ping-pong tables, and outdoor chess sets.

Various repairs and upgrades were carried out during the summer holidays:

• at the Generál Svoboda dormitory, you can use the drinking fountain (you can also fill your bottle here),
• at the Bedřich Václavek dormitory, elevators were renovated (building "A"), three barrier-free units were built, the entire building was repainted (building "C"), a drinking fountain was installed, the reception area was renovated, etc.,
• the J. L. Fischer dormitory is undergoing major renovations.

If you encounter any problems, you can contact the dormitory officer, the head of dormitory, or seek support from the Student Dormitory Council (Facebook, Instagram).

Information

UP dormitories accommodate more than 4,500 students in 11 buildings, and the canteens serve approximately 3,500 diners on weekdays. During the next calendar year, you can look forward to the renovated JLF dormitory block B and a new health center.

The Accommodation and Dining Services will keep you informed about news, changes, or operational restrictions via its SKM website, Facebook, and Instagram, email, and notice boards in the dormitory and canteen buildings.
