Good food is an essential part of successful university life. The Palacký University Dining and Accomodation Services provides students with affordable meals at a network of canteens and university bistros across Olomouc.

Every day, our canteens and bistros offer a choice of several hot meals, vegetarian dishes, salads, soups, desserts and other food items. Our services also include FreshUP bistros, which serve refreshments, coffee, sandwiches, sweet and savoury snacks and more. Meals can be ordered in advance via WebKredit or the MobilKredit 2 app and then enjoyed directly in the canteen of your choice, or collected in disposable packaging. When ordering, students can also use a reusable lunchbox, which can be exchanged for a clean one free of charge. For hygiene reasons, meals cannot be served in your own containers.

Palacký University students can benefit from discounted student prices using their university ISIC card. Meals and other products can be conveniently paid for using credit in the university catering system.

How to Use UP Canteens

Starting your studies at Palacký University and not sure how dining at the canteens works? All you need is an ISIC card, credit on your dining account and you can start ordering meals.

Once the semester begins, first pick up your ISIC card, which also serves as your dining identification card. You can collect your card at the Identification Card Office at Biskupské náměstí 1 in Olomouc.

Before ordering your first meal, you need to top up your dining account. You can add credit online by card via WebKredit, by bank transfer or by direct debit. Credit can also be added in person – in cash at canteen cash desks, at FreshUP bistros or at dormitory receptions. When paying by bank transfer, make sure to use the correct variable symbol.

You can then order your meal online at menza.upol.cz, via the MobilKredit 2 mobile app or directly at a canteen ordering terminal. When ordering, simply select the canteen where you would like to collect your meal and arrive at the designated time.

Then just tap your ISIC card and collect your meal. Enjoy your meal!

17. listopadu Canteen

The 17. listopadu Canteen is the largest canteen at Palacký University and one of the main dining hubs of student life in Olomouc. It is located in the Envelopa Campus and is directly connected to the Josef Jařab and 17. listopadu dormitories.

Every weekday, it offers a wide selection of traditional Czech and international dishes. The menu includes soups, salads, vegetarian meals, gluten-free dishes and pizza. A salad bar and additional food items are also available.

Students and staff can order meals in advance through the university meal ordering system. Orders can be placed up to 15 minutes before the end of meal service on the given day.

Křížkovského Canteen

The Křížkovského Canteen is located in the historic centre of Olomouc, directly in the Palacký University‘s Rectorate building. Thanks to its location, it is a popular dining spot for students and staff of the Faculty of Arts, the Sts Cyril and Methodius Faculty of Theology, and other university workplaces in the city centre.

The Neředín Canteen is located in the Neředín Campus and provides meals for Palacký University students, staff and visitors. It is situated in the immediate vicinity of the Neředín dormitories and the Faculty of Physical Culture.

Holice Canteen

The Holice Canteen is located on the Palacký University campus, which is home to workplaces of the Faculty of Science, the UP Science and Technology Park, the 3D Printing Centre, CATRIN and the UP Biocentre. Thanks to its location, it is the main dining facility for students, staff and visitors in this part of the university campus.

The campus also features a FreshUP bistro offering fresh sandwiches, coffee, sweet and savoury snacks and other refreshments.

Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry Canteen

Menu and meal orders

The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry canteen is situated in the new building of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at Palacký University, on the grounds of the Olomouc University Hospital. Thanks to its location, it serves as the main catering facility for students and staff of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, the Faculty of Health Sciences and other workplaces in this part of the city.

This canteen offers a daily selection of hot meals from both Czech and international cuisines. The menu includes soups, a salad bar, and meat-free and gluten-free options.

Students and staff can order meals in advance through the university meal ordering system. Orders can be placed up to 15 minutes before the end of meal service on the given day.

FreshUP Bistros

FreshUP is a network of university bistros operated by the Palacký University Dormitories and Refectories Administration, offering quick, high-quality refreshments close to faculties and other university facilities. The bistros are open to students, staff and university visitors and are an ideal place for a morning coffee, snack, light lunch or a quick meeting between lectures.

The selection includes fresh baguettes, sandwiches, wraps, salads, sweet and savoury pastries, desserts, fruit and high-protein products, coffee, and a wide range of hot and cold drinks. The selection is regularly updated and expanded with seasonal products and new items.

FreshUP bistros can be found at several faculties and university facilities across Olomouc, so refreshments are always within easy reach.

FreshUP Faculty of Science – Envelopa

17. listopadu 1192/12, Olomouc

The bistro is located in the Faculty of Science building on the Envelopa Campus. Thanks to its convenient location, it is one of the most popular FreshUP locations and a favourite spot for students and staff of the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Law.

Šmeralova 6, Olomouc

FreshUP+ is a modern university bistro located in the former Josefa Jařaba Canteen on the Envelopa Campus. It combines the best of the FreshUP bistro concept with a selection of freshly prepared hot meals, creating a welcoming space for students, staff and university visitors to meet and relax in the afternoon.

Unlike the regular FreshUP bistros, FreshUP+ offers an extended selection including hot meals, homemade dishes, fresh salads and street food, with the selection regularly changing. You can also enjoy coffee, fresh pastries, desserts and a wide range of drinks.

Thanks to its central location on the Envelopa Campus, FreshUP+ has become a popular spot for a late lunch, dinner, work meeting or informal get-together with friends. The bistro has direct street access from Šmeralova Street. Step-free access is available through the reception of the Josefa Jařaba Dormitory.

How Ordering Works

Meals at FreshUP+ cannot be ordered in advance through the university catering system. Dishes are prepared throughout the day, and you choose what you would like directly on site, similar to a modern self-service restaurant. This means that the dishes are always fresh and prepared according to current demand.
